Katherine and Robert were married 03/23/2014 in a small and intimate ceremony. Here are some of my favorites from the day: Katherine's daughter, who arrival had been delayed, arrived just after the ceremony was finished. It was an emotional moment. Amazing cake by National Boulangerie It had, without a doubt, the most buttery of buttercream frosting I've ever tasted.

Here are some more pictures from Amanda and Derek's beautiful wedding at the Bell House. Amanda and Derek (and Liz, Lyle, Ashley) you were all SO much fun! Thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding day. (if you haven't already you can see the sneak peek here)
This past weekend I photographed my first wedding of the year. It. Was. Awesome. In fact, it was so awesome that it's been difficult to try and pick just a few images for a little sneak peek! Amanda and Derek, you were so amazing to work with. Thank you for being so awesome! I just realized that I've used the word 'awesome' three times in one short paragraph. lol.
Back in June I worked with Angela Shay as a second shooter at Kylee and Chase's wedding at Red Mile. (this is the glory of being a second shooter-I don't have to edit photos until months later!) I don't usually edit photos into a square format of course, but I am obsessed with Instagram (laurieapplebywilliams), and thought what the heck. Why not? Enjoy! Every once in a while you shoot a couple that is so into each other that you feel like you should just put down the camera and walk away for a little bit. It was very obvious the these two crazy kids were in l-o-v-e. Occasionally it can be slightly uncomfortable but for the most part when I'm with a couple like this I turn into a big mushy ball of Awwwww! This was my first time shooting a wedding at Red Mile. The barn was perfect for the Shabby Chic look. At night, with all the lights lit it was really gorgeous. At the end of the night, in the early hours of the next day, the remaining guests went outside the barn to light and send off these giant paper lanterns in honor of those who were no longer with us. I'll admit, I was a little skeptical that they'd lift off (and I kept waiting for one to burst into flames) but they all made it and it was pretty cool.
Back in, oh, MAY I was a second (shooter) at a wedding with Angela Shay at the Lexington Country Club. Yes, I am a little behind in posting them but I've been in a wedding photo kind of mood after this past weekend's wedding and I am gearing up for another one with Angie next weekend. I don't want to get too far behind so here I am at 1:00am editing and blogging photos. Way to make my insomnia productive! Here are a few of my favorite shots from that day. Oh, and a word of advice...if you think you can wait until the end of the night to snag some candy from the super awesome candy bar, you are so wrong my friend. It will be wiped clean! Enjoy! Friday night I got to hang out in my studio and talk with guests during the 4th Friday event at the Lexington Art League. Despite all of the stairs I had quite a few people come up to check out my new space in the tower (more on this later, I swear). It was so great to receive such positive feedback from people about my work, talk with friends, old and new-I even sold a cell! (Thanks, Sue!) After the evening was done I headed over to West Sixth with the great group of ladies I work with and enjoyed a Dead Heat Wheat and a pretzel. Mmmm...carbs! On Saturday I had the honor of attending a good friend's wedding in Louisville. Could I resist taking photos? Of course not! The bride and groom (and the location) were simply too beautiful to resist: After the ceremony there was dinner, an open bar, and a photo booth. Craziness Ensued: Actually, I think we would have been just as crazy without free wine! The wonderful weekend was rounded off by a quiet evening with some more friends drinking coffee and catching up. I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful friends!
On May 12, 2012 Liz and Lyle were married at the beautiful Bell House in Lexington. I first met Liz during a class at UK, Costume Construction, where she sewed circles around me. I was honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding and had an absolute blast that day.
